Using your Sayreville library card
You may select any unoccupied computer. Enter your library card number and PIN. Your first session will begin immediately. Sayreville patrons may use public computers for up to 2 sessions per day. Sayreville residents must use their own Sayreville library card. Computer use will be denied if your card has expired or has excessive fines. If you don’t have your card with you, you must ask for a guest pass.

Don’t have a Sayreville library card?
Go to the Reference Desk to get a guest pass. You will receive a guest pass good for one session. You can select any unoccupied computer and enter the card number and PIN from the guest pass. You may only receive one guest pass per day.
If you do not want to use a guest pass and you do not have a library card, you may use one of our 15 minute session Express computers located in the lobby. These Express machines ask you to type in your name instead of a library card number. (Should you need to print, this will be what you use to release your print job. Please remember what you type in!) After 15 minutes, the session will end.

Do you need more time?
30 minutes of additional time will automatically be granted provided that at least one computer is free in the area you are sitting. Extra time is not guaranteed to be offered the hour leading up to closing time. If another person is waiting for a computer, your session will end and no extension will be offered.

Save your work and keep your business private
You should save your work frequently to a website or flash drive (available for purchase at the front desk). Your work will not be saved on the computer once your current session ends. Log out of all accounts before leaving!

Printing
You can print during your session, or wait until your session is complete. The print manager will save your print jobs until the end of the day. Go to the self service station and scan your library card or guest pass. Select the item you wish to print. Use print preview to see your print job. Select and pay for printouts, following the instructions on the screen. Black and white pages cost 15 cents and color pages cost 35 cents. Please note that all computers have access to both black and white and color printing.

Assistance from library staff
Our staff will assist you with questions and problems using our equipment and to navigate the library’s website. We do not provide assistance using other websites, word processing, or using other computer applications. The library offers free basic computer training classes and can give you information on additional classes

Computer use behavior rules
Only one person may use a computer at a time. For group projects, or if you have a small child with you, use the computers in the Children’s room.
